Hey all, I am doing an independent study in archaeology this semester; and I am working with rhyolite. Does anyone know any where in either North or South Carolinas that I could collect a couple different varieties for my research?

Check under latest finds and then under artifacts.

I've seen studies on the UNC archeology department website, here is a link to a study at Fort Bragg NC. Scroll down to reports on lithic studies and you will see different analysis of Metavolcanic Rocks and Quarry sites. You can also look around the State of North Carolina archeology website. Seems like I remember seeing a report on quarry sites in NC with good info and pictures. Hope that helps rla.unc.edu/Bragg/index.html#lrep
