Look's like a skull to me. Maybe, rock formed around it before the skull deteriorated?

Picture doesn't do it justice . Seeing it up close and personal its on the scary side.
On each side theres holes a bit lower than the eyes where ears would be on a skull. That round circle in the 3rd photo looks very similier to a cross section of a vertirbrea under a magnafying glass.
