Hey Derek, That's what I was thinking too. The red stripes look like "flow-banding" and the grain size of the matrix rock looks too large for jasper. Best guess, Looks more like rhyo to me. Joe

I agree with you, Joe. It's flow-banded rhyolite. I saw giant outcroppings of it in the Davis Mountains and Big Bend area of west Texas. Much of it was reddish to purplish-red similar to that pictured.
