They look like they have agate fortification patterns in them.

Yes, but the material before cut/shine is a luster-less almost chalky look and feel, while polishing the material bleeds very very little, like you would see when grinding hematite or red jasper

I'm actually surprised that no one who responded knew what it was. Green Zebra agate is mined in India and is a fairly popular lapidary material. My experience with it is limited but I know that it varies in hardness, color and pattern a great deal. I have examples that are extremely hard and take a great polish while other examples seem to be much softer. The color and patterns vary a great deal as well... Here's a few polished shapes I've done to show the variations in color and pattern... These are all Green Zebra Agate Dan
