Nice wood... I'd like to get out there one of these years and dig that. Right now, my main source is a local landscaping company, they have it for sale by the #, and I got a few pieces for just a few bucks... Not a lot of agateized cutable stuff, but still nice for in the garden.

Here's one that IMO is not a yard rock. I have another 500 lbs. or more from a very productive area. Can't put it all in the house.

Have not gotten into any cabbing yet. Equipment is pretty expensive for a retiree.

I don't get it in the shops in Holbrook. The area with the petrified wood is considerably larger than the park, and some is BLM land.

One of my favorite stones to cut and cab. It takes a polish as well as any that I have worked. True it does tend to be fractured alot but if you get a good solid piece it works beautifully. The colors are completely unreal.............love the stuff.......... Jim

You got some cool wood there bud!! I'm hoping to get down to AZ sometime next year...maybe we could meet up and go rock hounding.
I was at Prineville in June, and planning a trip to Cisco Yellow cat in October.
Thanks for sharing your AZ wood pictures.
