Any tricks for getting my finds home?

Hi, I'm taking my family on a rockhounding trip to Arizona this May, we live in Ohio, and am wondering if there are any tips or tricks on how to get the rocks we find home for the lowest cost.  I've looked at standard shipping and it looks like it could get pretty expensive fast.  We are flying into Phoenix.  

I know this is sort of a silly question, but any constructive help would be greatly appreciated.

Just take the best specimens and I guess flat rate box from USPS.. medium size box is $13.45 and includes fast shipping, tracking number, and insurance
