I've lived in Pinellas County for my whole life, and have never found much here. Wondering if anyone knows any "sweet-spots" here. I don't know of any sweet spots, but you are in prime area for fossilized clams and many of them contain calcite crystals in them as well as fossil coral which can be heat treated and cabbed or cabbed as is. I have a friend that comes down from georgia and spends a week here in Florida collecting coral, which he then heat treats and then cabs. Rocks in Florida??? only when they are trucked in!! Primitive man used to come here for the coral which would be buried under their fire pits and afterwards dug up and used to make arrow & spear tips. The west coast of Florida has always been a fossil hunters paradise, while over here on the "east coast" we just have sand!! Try Rucks pit & Ft. Drum area for clam fossils. I hope to make the trip there myself at some point too!! Good luck!! Mario
