:-[ I can be dumb at times!!! :-/ Last wed went to the peridot fields two days after a 15inch snow and did not have much luck other than getting stuk in 7 in of mud 4 times, but here are the pics for your enjoy.

View of the 49 mile caldron that exploded 13 mill year ago and left all the basalt that the peridot is in.that is about 5 miles away

I have run the explorer through the car wash and the powerwasher 3 times and there is still mud cakes on it. :-/ :-/

You are a brave soul and a better man than I. 15 inches of snow and you go out collecting? Cool pics and thanx for posting. To bad I will never get the chance to try collecting the peridot. Looks like it could be real nice if big enough. Ever get any facet grade? Can you post some other pics of specimens?

almost all we find is facet grade just small. I have found several at 1/3 inch by 3 mm but most smaller. The real problem is getting them free from the basalt in one piece
